100th Birthday Cake designs by St Margaret’s Primary School

Inspired by the illustrated scheme of the Duke of York’s as a cake by designer John Buckley, year 4 pupils at St Margaret’s RC PrimarySchool in Rottingdean will be designing the cinema’s official 100th Birthday Cake.

The Dukes has a long history with local food, especially as one of the first art house cinemas to sell tea and cake as well as popcorn for its cinema audiences.  Workshops will take place on Friday 3rd September and ‘Sticky Fingers’ who have been the offical cake bakers for the cinema for  20 years will choose and realise a winning cake that will be cut by the Mayor of Brighton & Hove on Saturday 25th September.

If you would like to see the winning design come to the public open day on Saturday 25th September.  The Mayor will cut the cake and wish the cinema Happy Birthday at roughly 3.30pm.

This project is also in collaboration with Brighton & Hove Local Food Week
