Arts Award is a national qualification which supports young people aged 11-25 to develop as artists and arts leaders. Arts Award has three levels – Bronze, Silver and Gold – which are on the QCF (Qualification Credit Framework)and accredited by Ofqual at levels one, two and three.

We’re proud to support the Arts Award and as an Arts Award Welcome organisation the Duke of York’s 100 project offers young people undertaking the Arts Award special tickets, events targeted at the Arts Award and opportunities to meet the artists that we work with.
Here is what’s on offer at the moment:
Behind the Scenes History Tours
This year the Duke of York’s Picturehouse celebrates it’s 100th Anniversary. The cinema opened on 22nd September 1910 and is the UK’s oldest purpose-built cinema, as verified by the Cinema Theatres Association.
Birthday week celebrations and guided tours will be taking place through-out September.
For Arts Award participants we are offering Behind the Scenes History Tours beyond the Birthday week itself up until Dec 2010. Bookable for groups with a free tour and archive film package. Feature Films – on request groups can also add a feature film screening to their tour and archive trip.
(note: this is dependent on cinema availability and prices for films do vary)

BUS: 5/5A/5B frequent from town centre; night buses from Falmer. TRAIN: Brighton station 15 mins; London Road station 5 mins (evenings: every 30 mins to Falmer until 11.35). PARKING: multistorey off London Rd ( free after 6pm). Please avoid parking in surrounding streets as it can cause a nuisance for residents.
